Something to think about...

Hey...

When we reach an age where we do our own thing and believe we are all grown up and can't take any advice from anyone, well I've been there.

I wanted to surprise my parents with a great supper. I wanted to make chicken, just like daddy does. It's all golden colour on the outside and juicy in the inside. It's the most perfect chicken with it's perfect sides.

There was some rules in the kitchen, because I was too young. Well, to make daddy's chicken I must bend the rules, just a little a bit...and I wish I'd remember why there were rules in the first place...

Everything didn't go according to plan. The chicken was still white on the outside and busy drying out on the inside and I couldn't serve such chicken to my parents, and that's when I came up with a brilliant idea! To make the chicken golden brown on the outside, I decided to make some coffee with cold water, just like a paste and added some sugar, to give it a sweet and bitter taste. As I believed, I think I was a genius, because I figured out my daddy's secret!

There is a reason why grown ups give us rules and they aren't always meant to be bend. After that disaster, I just stick to my rules and when I'm older I know I will make daddy's chicken even better!

How did it start?

Hey!

Well, at a very young age you would have found me next to my dad. A girl's hero is always her dad! My dad loves to spoil us by preparing some great dishes.

Since that time, you would have found me in the kitchen, preparing some kind of dish. When adults find me in the kitchen, you must see the look on their faces! Their mouth's were wide open, eyes were ready to jump out and it was hilarious! And that's how I got hooked on making food!

I love making food by following recipes, but when I'm making it my own, then is when the real fun start. I like it when people taste my food and when they are loving it. I like to see the expressions on their faces. When I'm really pleased with myself, is when the people don't really like my food and when I improved it, how they are pleased with the new recipe. I simply love a challenge!

I hope you have a great adventure in the kitchen, just like me!

Till later...

This is me!

Hey...
I’m JaydĂ©, currently study FET at CPUT in Wellington. I’m really having the time of my life apart from the money and food troubles.  As a student, I know how busy one can get and I know we often struggle with money and wondering what’s for dinner at the lowest costs! It is not always easy to make a healthy, cheap and easy dish, that’s why I started this blog. I like to spend time in the kitchen and don’t mind sharing some ideas!
I hope you will enjoy this journey with me!
